Activities We Cover

Subject to the exclusions of this policy, the following recreational, non-professional (amateur) and non-competitive activities may be covered. Section B Personal Liability excludes claims relating to the ownership, possession or use of vehicles, aircraft, hovercraft, watercrat, firearms and buildings.

When booked through Exodus
The policy provides cover for any activity outlined in Exodus trip notes, brochures, website or other Exodus promotional literature (as applicable), provided the activity is booked through, or organised by, Exodus. An additional premium is payable for all 'Tough' Exodus itineraries (grades 7, 8 and 9), which can be found on the Exodus website, www.exodus.co.uk

When booked independently of Exodus
The policy provides cover for the following activities including when booked independently of Exodus.

    Exodus Travel Insurance provides cover for persons who will be travelling overland on an organised tour or travelling independently.

    Please contact Campbell Irvine if you will be overlanding on a motorcycle as motorcycle overlanding may incur an additional premium.

    SAFARI/GORILLA TREKKING

    If you wish to partake in a safari whilst travelling outside your normal country of residence, the Exodus Travel Insurance automatically provides cover for this, whether it be in a vehicle, walking/trekking, or on horseback (please note that this also applies to Gorilla Trekking).

  • Safari Travel (in a vehicle or on foot)
    SAFARI TRAVEL

    If you wish to partake in a safari whilst travelling outside your normal country of residence, the Exodus Travel Insurance automatically provides cover for this, whether it be in a vehicle, walking/trekking, or on horseback (please note that this also applies to Gorilla Trekking).

  • Scuba Diving (up to 40 metres in depth) excluding solo diving
    SCUBA DIVING

    Exodus Travel Insurance provides cover for persons participating in recreational scuba diving to a maximum depth of 40 metres. Please note that cover is excluded if the insured person will be solo diving or entering shipwrecks/caves. Cover also extends to include marine based conservation project work.

    TREKKING

    Exodus Travel Insurance automatically provides cover for trekking on recognised routes, organised and guided, up to 4000m altitudes.

    The cover includes all necessary transportation costs from a known and agreed location to take an insured person to the nearest appropriate medical facility by air ambulance or helicopter if deemed medically necessary and authorised by the 24 hour overseas medical emergency assistance providers.

    Please note for all treks: in addition to the requirement to trek on recognised routes, cover is subject to being in possession of working communications/portable phone.

    Cover is excluded whilst trekking against local authority advice.

    VOLUNTEER/COMMUNITY/CONSERVATION WORK

    The Exodus Travel Insurance policy provides cover for persons who wish to participate in Community, Conservation or Volunteer project work whilst travelling outside their normal country of residence. This includes educating children and helping in the construction of schools. Please note that cover excludes any hazardous manual work i.e. operating heavy machinery or climbing scaffolding.

  • Wake Boarding/Water Skiing
  • Wall Climbing (Manmade Climbing Walls)
  • Water Polo
  • White/Black Water Rafting or Canoeing
    WHITE/BLACK WATER RAFTING/CANOEING

    White water rafting and Black water rafting is covered under the Exodus Travel Insurance policy and is not subject to any grade restrictions provided that the activity is arrange through an organised company and not undertaken in either a competitive or professional capacity. This also applies to Canoeing, Kayaking and Hydro Speeding.

    Please contact us if you would like to arrange cover for the above activities when booked independently of a UK registered tour operator as we may provide cover for an additional premium.

Trekking between 4,000 and 6,000 metres may be covered when booked independently of Exodus subject to the appropriate Tough premium having been paid and shown on your booking invoice or validation certificate (as applicable). The trekking itinerary must be booked through a UK registered Tour Operator using recognised routes.
